The final 2021/22 Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Event was held at The Renaissance, host course of the 2022 Scottish Open, on Monday 2nd May 2022.   This order of merit was formerly know as the East Lothian Schools Order of Merit and is open to player that live in East Lothian that have an official handicap.

39 local juniors competed in 12 counting events between September and May which took in all weathers!  Well done to all 23 players that qualified to compete yesterday and huge thanks to The Renaissance for kindly hosting us.  Thanks also to the parents that kindly ball spotted and helped to ensure all players got roundin a good time.  Click here for full results from the competition at The Renaissance.

Scratch Division @ The Renaissance Congratulations to Ryan Gallagher (Preston Lodge HS/Longniddry GC) who once again won the Scratch Division with 33 points.  This was 1 better than Ryan shot at Renaissance last year and beat Jack Collingswood (North Berwick High School/North Berwick West LInks Junior GC)  into 2nd place by 1 point.

Handicap Division @ The Renaissance Congratulations also to Cameron Brown (Musselburgh Grammar/Musselburgh Golf Club) who won the Handicap Division with 44 points beating last year's Handicap winner at Renaissance Angus Waddell (North Berwick High School/Gullane Golf Club)  into 2nd place again by only 1 point.

2021/22 East Lothian Final Order of Merit Results

Yesterday’s event at The Renaissance was the final counting event in the 2021/22 Junior Golf Order of Merit  which was player over 12 events hosted at Winterfield, Gifford, Haddington, Musselburgh Old, Gullane, The Glen, Royal Musselburgh, Kilspindie, Longniddry and Renaissance Golf Clubs.  Huge thanks to all of the clubs that hosted us, ensuring we could offer local Safe Golf opportunties on their courses free of charge to support junior golf in East Lothian. The summer will now seem like a breeze in comparison!  

Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Scratch Division Winner  - Congratulations to Ryan Gallagher (Longniddry GC /Preston Lodge HS) who is the winner of the Scratch Division.  Ryan beat Adam MacDonald (Haddington GC / Know Academy) into 2nd by almost 200 points.  Ryan is the youngest of the 3 Gallagher brothers, including Cameron and Jamie, who have all taken part in our events for many years so it is the end of an East Lothian junior golf era!  

Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Handicap Division Winner - Congratulations  also to Ryan Pirie (Haddington GC / Knox Academy) who is the winner of the Handicap Division. beating Cameron Brown (Musselburgh Grammar/Musselburgh Golf Club) into a close 2nd.

Scratch Winner Ryan Gallagher, Handicap Winner Ryan Pirie and top scoring girl Louise Martin (North Berwick High School/Gullane Golf Club), will be invited to represent East Lothian in our AIG Women’s Open pro-am team at Muirfield in August.
