Dunbar Grammar claim 4 of 6 cross country team trophies at Meadowmill
Dunbar claimed four out of the six team trophies available at the East Lothian Schools Cross Country, with over one hundred S1, S2 and S3 pupils taking part in an equally windy course at Meadowmill Sports Centre. Dunbar only relented the S2 Girls to North Berwick and the S3 Boys to Preston Lodge. There were some fine individual performances to help their schools to team victory.
In the S1 Girls, Emma Lessels (Preston Lodge) has a fine win ahead of Bridget Lemasviier (Musselburgh Grammar) and Rosie Bewick (North Berwick). In the S1 Boys race, fresh from a fine performance at the Scottish Schools Cross Country Championships Joe Donnelly (North Berwick) came across the line ahead of Euan Ford (Preston Lodge) and Mackenzie Lawler (Dunbar Grammar).
Dunbar’s Catriona McPheat had a strong winning margin over her North Berwick rivals Esme Callendar and Kirsty Morrison in the S2 Girls competition. It was also a win for Dunbar’s Fraser Kelly in the S2 Boy’s race ahead of Knox’s Max Leveque and teammate Charlie Hamilton (Dunbar).
In the S3 Girls race Joy Archer (Musselburgh) edged out Dunbar’s Lucy Allan and Mary Callachan. Preston Lodge’s Purves twins showed their athletic prowess as Jordan edged out Daniel on this occasion, with Connor McGregor taking third place.
