Football Douglas Allan 2013

Following three weeks of football activity, Finals Day at Meadowmill involved Wallyford PS, Campie Ps, Law PS & Stoneyhill PS. Played in a round robin format, it soon became obvious that the teams were evenly matched.

First round of games saw Wallyford beat Campie 4-3, and Stoneyhill  defeated Law 2-1 . Second round saw Law beat Wallyford 2-0 and Campie beat Stoneyhill 2-0. After two rounds of games all had three points. The final game for each school became crucial and on first, were Stoneyhill v Wallyford, the first goal was crucial and Stoneyhill got the early breakthrough this settled them and as Wallyford pressed they were picked off by Stoneyhill who recorded a 5-0 win. With Stoneyhill on 6 points and Wallyford out of contention, it all came down to the Campie v Law game and who had the better head to head results with Stoneyhill,  should one team win. It was tense but it was a very good game of football. It was late in the first half when Campie scored,  Ethan Williams’ intercepting a pass and he drilled it under Fraser Machray in the Law goal . Both teams were playing excellent football and it was end to end stuff, chances were made and with both goalkeepers in excellent form, no further goals were scored.  Final Result:  Campie 1 Law 0.

The final outcome was:  Campie & Stoneyhill 6 points – Law & Wallyford 3 points.

Campie having won the head to head game with Stoneyhill 2-0 were declared the winners of the 2013 Douglas Allan Football 5`s
