2023 Renaissance Golf Final

The final 2022/23 Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Event was held at The Renaissance, host course of the 2023 Scottish Open, on Monday 22nd May 2023.   This order of merit was formerly know as the East Lothian Schools Order of Merit and is open to player that live in East Lothian that have an official handicap.

2022/23 East Lothian Final Order of Merit Results

Yesterday’s event at The Renaissance was the final counting event in the 2022/23 Junior Golf Order of Merit  which was played over 14 events hosted by Winterfield, Gifford, Haddington, Musselburgh Old, North Berwick, Gullane, The Glen, Royal Musselburgh, Kilspindie, Longniddry and Renaissance Golf Clubs.  Huge thanks to all of the clubs that hosted us, ensuring we could offer local playing opportunties on their courses free of charge to support junior golf in East Lothian. The summer will now seem like a breeze in comparison to the last 9 months!

Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Scratch Division Winner  - Congratulations to Jack Collingswood (West Links Juniors/North Berwick HS) who is the winner of the Scratch Division.  Jack beat Adam Nichol (Haddington GC / Ross HS) into 2nd by just 70 points so it all came down to the final.  We bid a fond farewell to Adam Nichol after over 10 years in the junior golf programme.  Adam has now finished high school and is going to Edinburgh University after the summer.

Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Handicap Division Winner - Congratulations  also to Hudson Blair (Archerfield GC / Law PS) who is the winner of the Handicap Division beating Ellie Bent (North Berwick HS / Gullane Golf Club) into a very close 2nd by just 30 points.  Hudson is currently only in P7 so this is a fantastic achievement to top the Order of Merit which is generally competed for by high school age golfers.

This season we have 5 primary aged juniors with handicaps taking part in the Order of Merit so the future is looking bright.

The players that finished in the top 8 of the Scratch Division have been invited to attend a block of 3 sessions with PGA Pro Paul Wardell at Renaissance kindly funded by the East Lothian Junior Golf League.
