There was cause for a double celebration as Prestonpans Primary won both the Boys and Girls sections of the John Home Robertson football tournament.
The John Home Robertson Cup runs every year as a 7aside competition and is open to all primary schools in East Lothian and taking part this year we had 6 schools in the Girls section and 12 schools in the boys section.
The girls section was very tightly contested with some excellent football on display with lots of goals being scored to keep the spectators entertained but unfortunately for Kings Meadow, who performed very well throughout, they were piped on goal difference by a very good Prestonpans side. 
The boys section was very hotly contested also with 2 very tight group sections where Kings Meadow knocked out the holders Windygoul on route to a final with Prestonpans.
Despite the driving wind and rain by this point it did not affect the players enthusiasm and both teams competed very well in the final before Prestonpans edged a victory to claim a double celebration for the school.
