Karate at Windygoul Primary School, led by Chris Ewing Karate
"Chris Ewing Karate", is now running classes for all ages as well as providing extra sessions for Active Schools within the Tranent Cluster. The club is now making news across the country with many of the children attending tournaments in various arenas, from Glasgow to Berlin!
Karate is going strong in Tranent, as it has done for the past few years now, and all the hard work and practice is paying off from the local club!
The recent Meadowbank Open saw Niamh Mullen from Windygoul Primary win a fantastic 2nd place and a Silver Medal! However the big event in the last few months has been the British Open, where many of the "Chris Ewing Karate Club" attended with high hopes of a medal. These hopes came true with Emma Fraser (Elphinstone Primary) winning 1 Silver medal and 1 bronze medal, which as an outstanding achievement against a very strong field of opponents.
However, rising starlet Neve Ewing (Windygoul Primary) won a staggering, 2 Gold Medals and 2 Silver medals at the event in Glasgow! Not stopping there, Neve also won a gold Medal at the English Open in Hull as well as winning 1st place at the Scottish Grand Prix in November!! Well Done to Neve and all the other Medal winners and participants from Chris Ewing Karate Club!
