For the second consecutive year North Berwick girls win the Senior 7's Hockey Tournament
Last year was the inaugural year for the senior girls 7's hockey tournament, which was won by North Berwick High School. Only three schools participated in 2013 but last month all 6 high schools battled for the cup.
It was a very close tournament. Half-way through the event North Berwick, Ross High and Knox Academy were all tied. The crunch came when they had to play each other. Ross High and Knox drew against each other but North Berwick were too strong for both teams and with a win against them, became champions for the second year. Ross High and Knox tied in second place with Knox inching through on goal difference, which is an excellent achievement for both schools.
It has been a very successful year for North Berwick in terms of girls hockey. The school has defended all three hockey titles that all the high schools participate in annually: S1 girls, S2 girls and Senior girls.
