Young Scot National Entitlement Card

The Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC) is free of charge to 11-to-26-year-olds living in Scotland.

Use it for money off the things you love, exclusive Rewards, Proof-of-Age and much more.

You can use your Young Scot NEC for...

• Free bus travel for Under 22's

• Discounted train & ferry travel for 16-18 year old's and full-time volunteers

• Proof of Age

• Rewards and Discounts through Young Scot Membership

• More Discounts across Europe with the European Youth Card Association (EYCA)

If young people do not already have their Young Scot NEC, they/parent/carer can visit their FAQ page for all the details.

For the time being, young people do not need their cards to be able to sign up for Young Scot Membership – which gives them access to online discounts, rewards and opportunities – to sign up they need a myaccount. 

East Lothian Active Schools and Young Scot have entered into a Partnership to reward Young People who participate in Active Schools Activities or Volunteer with Active Schools.

Active Schools will distribute points at the end of each term for participating or volunteering with Active Schools. Once your child has signed up to Young Scot Membership – this handy will show them everything they need to know and earn them 25 Rewards Points! What do points makes?  REWARDS! Over 300 shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, services and companies offering discounts in exchange for points.
