Caitlin O’Brien and Fraser McLeod competed in the 25th FIG DMT World Age Group Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria on the 16-19th November 2017
The Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline World Age Group Championships took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on the 16-19th November 2017 following on from the World Championships the week before.
Caitlin O’Brien from City of Edinburgh Trampoline Club was selected to represent Great Britain in the 17-21 Girls Age Group, her 3rd consecutive World Age Group Championships. CETC Head Coach, Lauren Jeffrey was also selected as GB DMT Team Coach for the event. Fraser McLeod from Musselburgh based Two Foot Higher Trampoline and current BG and SG DMT Champion was selected for the 15-16 boys’ competition.
Caitlin O’Brien won gold in the 17-21 Women’s Category. She qualified for the finals in 3rd place after finishing top of her group. In the finals, Caitlin performed amazingly well scoring enough to beat her opposition, pushing her into first place and secured the Gold Medal winning 1st place. A brilliant achievement for 19 year old Caitlin.
The previous day, Two Foot Higher’s Fraser McLeod qualified for the finals, finishing in a commendable 6th place out of 38 competitors in his first World Age Group Championships.
