Close finish at girls hockey tournament. Did North Berwick High School retain cup?
The first hockey tournament of the year in East Lothian took place on Friday 01 February at Meadowmill Sports Centre, Tranent.
The tournament was organised by Fiona harfield, Hockey Development Officer, for S1 girls. Dunbar Grammar, Ross High, Preston Lodge, Knox Academy and North Berwick High School all participated in the event. The weather was awful, cold, wet and windy – typical for hockey.
North Berwick High School were defending champions and had a hard fought battle with Knox Academy whose hockey has grown tremendously over the last year. Both teams had won all their games but in the end North Berwick were victorious as they beat Knox Academy 1 – 0 and retained the trophy.
