Double Success for Hockey PAiS Athletes

Lara Frostwick and Amy White

Double Success for PAiS Athletes

Last November PAiS athletes (Performance Athletes in School) Amy White and Lara Frostwick from North Berwick, were selected to represent East of Scotland in the hockey Interdistrict tournament, which was held at the National Academy for Hockey at Peffermill, Edinburgh.

As a consequence of being selected for the hockey Interdistrict tournament in November last year, Amy White and Lara Frostwick who are currently in the PAiS programme, have been invited to train with the national and district squads respectively.  Amy is now part of the U16/U18 national squad and the East Performance Squad and Lara trains with the U18 East District Performance Squad.

This is a fantastic achievement for Amy and Lara who have been in the PAiS programme for more than 2 years.  Their coach, Fiona Harfield, East Lothian Hockey Development Officer, said how proud she was of the girls.  ‘They have worked so hard since being in the programme and now all their efforts are paying off.  I spotted Amy in her first year at North Berwick High School, she had never played hockey before but was so enthusiastic and still is.  She soaks up information that she is given.  Lara started with me in the East Lothian Hockey Development Squads and has worked her way into PAiS with sheer hard work and determination’.
