Dunbar Primary School win the Regional Hockey Finals beating off teams from Mid Lothian, Borders and Edinburgh.
The hockey Regional Finals tournament was held in Edinburhg this year at the National Hockey Academy in Peffermill, Edinburgh. Dunbar Primary School team of P7s were looking to win it back from a host of other schools from across the Lothians and Borders including current holders and East Lothian school, Gullane Primary.
It was a beautiful sunny day and eight teams representing East and Mid Lothian, the Borders and Edinburgh were all looking to take the trophy home. Gullane and Dunbar Primary schools set the pace from early on winning most of their games. The two schools were heading up the pool with equal points and it looked like it would go down to goal difference unless Gullane could score a huge number of goals in their last game. However it wasnt meant to be and in the end Dunbar Primary won the tournament on goal difference. It was a fantastic event helped on my the weather, the venue and the sportsmanship of all the teams.
