Gifford Flag Competition

The final East Lothian Junior Golf Fun Competition was played at Gifford on Friday 5^th October 2012.

There was a great turn out on the day with 7 Handicap players and 19 Non Handicap players all keen to gain the last points towards the East Lothain Order of Merit.  It was a beautiful afternoon at Gifford as finally summer arrived in October!  Gifford Flag Competition results below:

Handicap Division

1^st Connor Wilson (Castle Park)

2^nd Kieran Armstrong  (Haddington)

3^rd Lewis Purves (The Glen)

4^th Zac Jones ( Musselburgh Old)

5^th William Ladbrooke (Gullane)

Silver Division

1^st  Cameron Spencer (The Glen)

2^nd Cameron Gallagher (Longniddry)

3^rd James Guckian (Tantallon)

4^th Mikey Shephard (The Glen)

5^th Callum Lindsay (Gullane)

It was a close competition in both divisions with Connor Wilson (Castle Park) beating Kieran Armstrong (Haddington) into 2^nd place by one shot in the Handicap Division.  Both boys have knocked lots of shots off their handicaps this season and have shown real commitment to improving their game.

In the Silver Division Cameron Spencer (The Glen) beat Cameron Gallagher (Longniddry) by just one drive up the 9^th hole.  The Silver Division were playing from the red tees so did fantastically well with many reaching the 8^th green in just 45 shots. 

Well done to all the players that took part in the fun competitions this season.  I hope the Order of Merit has encouraged you all to play and practice and also helped to build your confidence to come and play competitions.  Overall though I really hope you’ve had fun playing golf and that you’ll come back for more next year!
