Gullane Primary school have won the East Lothian Primary Kwik Cricket Tournament 2015 played at Meadowmill today.
On an almost sunny Wednesday in June, four East Lothian Primary schools battled for the title of East Lothian Kwik Cricket Champions 2015.
Sandersons Wynd, Pinkie St Peters, Macmerry and Gullane played three matches each to determine this year's winners. Up for grabs was a very cool trophy in the form of an antique (well, almost) cricket bat and an invitation to the National Primary Festival at Doo'cot Park in Perth in two weeks' time.
An experienced Gullane team proved too strong for the other schools, winning all their games. Pinkie St Peters came second with two wins out of three games.
The skill level of all schools was exceptionally high and the less experienced schools demonstrated a good understanding of the game despite having just had three sessions at school!
Well done to all and a big thank you to Craig from Preston Village Cricket Club and Kirstie from Tranent Cricket Club for helping out on the day!
