Meadowmill gets Major Refurbishment

Works on Meadowmill Sports Centre to create East Lothian’s premier sports facility

On Monday 30th July, work began on a major 3 month refurbishment project to upgrade Meadowmill Sports Centre into East Lothian’s premier indoor and outdoor sports facility.

The initiative, a joint venture for enjoyleisure and East Lothian Council, incorporates a complete overhaul of the 10 team changing rooms used for outdoor sports and the expansion of the dedicated Free Weights Room, including the installation of brand new state-of-the-art equipment.  Additionally the reception area will be transformed to include the creation of a dedicated education and training meeting room, which has the capability to support fitness classes, and a dedicated two bed physiotherapy room to offer the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries.

Throughout the refurbishment, Meadowmill Sports Centre will remain open with    access available to the public, members, clubs and groups looking to make use of the Sports Hall, Bodyworks Gym, outdoor pitches and the dry side changing rooms.  All other areas of the Centre, however, including the café will be closed to the public in order of the refurbishment to take place.

enjoyleisure General Manager Bill Axon commented; “We are delighted to be able to announce the start date of these major refurbishments at Meadowmill Sports Centre.  The final outcome will deliver a fresh, modern, vastly enhanced facility with the capacity of attracting larger regional and national sporting events.   We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to all customers for their patience and co-operation while the works are underway.”
