Haddington & District ASC has a vacancy for a Squad Swimming Coach

Haddington & District Amateur Swimming Club operates 5 squads across 150 swimmers and is committed to enabling every member to reach their full potential, through the provision of a quality coaching programme which promotes and manages the teaching, knowledge and practice of competitive swimming at all levels.

The squads range from novice to national level standard and we now have opportunities for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our successful Club as a squad coach. The position would be based at the Haddington Aubigny sports centre and would involve 3 to 6 hours pool-side coaching per week and also attending some competitions. From time to time there would be a requirement to provide coaching at other pools within East Lothian.

We would expect the successful squad coach candidates to:

• Have relevant ASA qualifications and experience – minimum Level 1 working towards level 2
• Have the National Rescue Award qualification or be prepared to complete
• Develop swimmers to achieve their full potential according to their level of ambition
• Produce a co-ordinated and stimulating training and competition programme appropriate to the different levels of swimmer
• Communicate openly and honestly with swimmers, committee and parents
