Number of Team East Lothian athletes perform well at East District Cross Country Championships
It’s been a busy winter season so far for Team East Lothian with athletes delivering good performances in the Borders Cross Country series, the East District Cross Country League and both the East District and National Cross Country Relay Championships.
Last weekend saw the team take part in the East District Cross Country Championships in Livingston with a good turnout in a number of age group categories. Esme Balfour finished 42nd in a strong field of U13 Girls. In the U15 Girls race there was spirited running from Sophie Hayes to finished 17th and Esme Callender finished a promising 30th in her first event at this level. In the U13 Boys race Robbie Anderson and James Walter put up a good fight to finish 36th and 52nd respectively. And finally, in the U15 Boys race strong runs from Eric Gallagher (37th), Joe Donnelly (39th) and Cameron Bullen (52nd) completed the day as conditions became more challenging.
