A summer get together prepares Haddington Curling club for the winter weather
Friday night saw the Curling Club getting together for their Summer Outing, A chance to get together, reminisce over mistakes made last season and opportunities for the coming season. Having carefully picked one of the first dry evenings of the summer the club met up at Gifford Bowling Club for an evening on and off the green.
It was a very relaxed affair with some occasional bowling to keeping us away from the bar. The experienced 'old hands' were shown how to master this game by the youngsters. Sandy Nicoll eventually took his second win in three years, this time partnered by Megan Dun. The fact that Sandy was wearing a bowling club tee-shirt should have tipped us off that he was something of a 'ringer'.
After some time, we were forced inside, due mainly to the onset of darkness and a resurgence of midges. The conversation and consumption of even more food and alcohol continued and was enjoyed by everyone that managed along.
